Another year has come and gone, at least school year that is. I am always amazed at the growth of our children in such a short time - both physically, but also emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Our children are a delight to us. We are constantly trying to learn their personalities - what drives them, what trips them up, what excites them, what frightens them etc....., and you know, it never seems to be what we think it's going to be! I am tired often, but it is so good for me to step back and remember the bigger picture - that their life is not my story for them, but God's story for them, and I just get to have a front row seat.
We ended the school year with many activities, and these pictures are just a small sampling - Field Day, end of the year plays, and last Miracle League games.
Hello Summer!

Pointing to her Aunt's memorial tree at the school. Ellison continues to speak of her loss multiple times a week. I try to answer her questions to the best of my ability, but the truth is that I am just as confused as she is.

I could not have been more proud of Elijah this season as he served each Friday night during the Spring with Miracle League baseball. This will have completed his 4th year of serving in one capacity or another. This year, we noticed a huge growth in his comfort level, and his initiative with our players. I never had to tell him what to do, or where to serve..., he just instinctively knew what to do this year. He was always found either pushing a wheelchair, or trying his best to communicate with one of our deaf players, taking someone by the hand and leading them around the bases, or just handing them a ball so they could have the chance to hold the ball in their hands. It was a beautiful thing to witness each Friday night, and was truly the highlight of my spring.

And this girl's role seemed to be petting the dogs that were on the field !
