Happy 4th Birthday Ellison!

I say it every year, and I will say it every year for the rest of their lives....., how can my babies be growing up so quickly? I suppose in reality, 4 is really tiny still, but for some reason, it just feels so much older. She seems so much older to me. She is absolutely the most delightful, creative, spunky, and fun little girl I know!  She makes our world so much more colorful and "always has a great idea"! She is a master story-teller, and her 2 imaginary friends, "Emmy and Sara-Ashley" frequent our home often. There is no end to her imagination. Very little in this life frightens her, but I am noticing that she is beginning to be somewhat more cautious about some things...., which is good, because for so long nothing even unnerved her, which made me very nervous!  She still loves animals of all kinds, and she loves a good group of people. Wherever the action is, that's where you'll find Ellison. She is incredibly musical, like her big brother, and can hold a steady rhythm, sing right on pitch, is showing interest in piano, and also dance. I am helping her at home with very basic piano, and she goes to ballet (which is really more of a creative movement type class) each week. She is constantly drawing, painting, coloring, building, or designing something. She loves to ride her bike, and the girl loves to swing! She has mastered "pumping her legs" on the swing now, so she can fly high and fly solo now! The higher, the faster, the better. Ellison can play equally as well with boys or girls - you never know which way she is going to go. She can be as girly as they come one minute, and running around with swords, ships, and lightsabers the next with the boys. I love that about her!  She just wants to play and be with people - it really doesn't matter what they are doing, she just wants to be a part. She is bold, determined, energetic, stubborn (at times), but most of that stubbornness is because like I have already said, according to her, one of her favorite phrases is, "I have a great idea".  And she usually does have a great idea. She is learning to submit to authority though, so I rejoice with her as she learns this tough concept. She is an incredible eater, and will eat anything I serve. She rarely, if ever, complains about her meals. She continues to be a very passionate child and she's all "in" with whatever emotion she is experiencing at the minute.  She has definite opinions about her clothes, shoes, ribbons/bows - Lord help me!!  Most days, she and I have some sort of "discussion", call it what you want, over clothes. We are both learning! I think we should have her boots "bronzed" once she outgrows them!!

Ellison thrills and delights my soul. She brings our family so much joy and "color". She is a very loving little girl, always hugging us, kissing us, wanting to be close, telling us how much she loves us, and telling us that we are her best friends. It just doesn't get much better than that!

Welcome to your 4th year of life my sweet girl! May you never stop loving life, and those who are in yours.

All our love,
Mommy and Daddy

Good morning Sunshine!  Today, you are 4 years old.

Elijah is always happy to celebrate others' special days. I love this about him. He also gave her that little pink kitty as her birthday gift.

Cinnamon rolls were the breakfast of choice

and, no outfit is complete on this little girl without her brown or pink cowgirl boots!

It was absolutely freezing this particular day, but of course, she had an opinion about her jacket!

Licking beaters is a must while baking. She wanted to make her own birthday cake, and her special request was a "pineapple upside down" cake!  I was so surprised, but then again, not really  :)

I love this picture. It captures so much without saying a word.

May all your wishes come true baby girl.

Rosemary Beach, New Years, 2016

We spent several days after Christmas at Rosemary Beach with the other side of our family. The children as always, had such a wonderful time being together. This seems to have become a new tradition, and we are all loving it.

New dresses!

New mermaid tail for Bradford!  This little girl is a fish!  I have never seen a child love the water as much as she does.

Night swims are the best!

Lightsaber duel!

of course, s'mores are always a hit

My sister's beautiful children. She would be so proud of the amazing kids they are growing up to be. I truly cannot believe that she has missed nearly 4 years of their lives. They were so little when Jesus took her home. They are both beautiful reflections of her.

"Christmas Morning 2015"

Christmas was alittle different this year. I have so much to catch up on with this blog...., I am about 6 months behind on writing, but I will catch up in another post. But for Christmas, we were with my parents in their home, Jay's parents came to be with us there also, and then Jay came down with the FLU a few days before Christmas Eve and was sick 7 straight days!  It was just wild.  But, the kids' still had a great Christmas despite the little "hiccups" along the way.
