"Beach Get-Away"....

God provided a quick family get-away a few weeks ago for our family. We were humbled by this opportunity and the graciousness shown to us. To say we needed some time away is an understatement!  We knew we needed to get away, but I don't even think we realized how much we needed this until we got in the car and headed down the interstate. Literally as soon as we closed the car doors, Jay and I looked at each other, smiled, and felt burdens lift. Our little trip was nearly perfect in every way - weather was perfect, kids were healthy and happy, good sleep, LOTS of play, and LOTS of laughter. This was Ellison's 1st time to the beach, and EB hasn't been in nearly 2 years!  I took so many pictures that I am posting them in separate posts. Here is a look a day 1.

Elijah Brooks age 4 (turning 5 in 1 month)
Ellison Anne age 1 1/2 (turning 2 in 4 months)

First look at the ocean!  And look at those curls!!

Love this boy -

This was his first time to "boogie board".  He absolutely loved every second, and we could hardly pull him out of the water.  He gets his love of the beach straight from his Daddy!

I love this picture of Ellison watching her brother and Daddy

This girl's got the right idea of how to spend a day at the beach!

Dinner that night - he looks really angry, but actually he was smiling and so happy at "Margheritaville"!

Best picture I could get with her! She was far more interested in sucking on a lemon.

Watching the lady on stilts walking around making balloon creations for the kids

Riding high on Daddy's shoulders looking at the Ferris Wheel

And this guy begged me to ride the ferris wheel with him - I don't like heights, or motion - but I love my child!

1st time on a Ferris Wheel - think he was having fun

Our view from the very top of the ferris wheel where we sat for about 10 minutes!  Yeah, that was fun.  Got a good look of the beach at night though.

Sibling love - and that makes a momma's heart so happy

Why does he look 12 in this picture????  Slow down son!
