"A look back..."

In an effort to keep this scrapbook of sorts updated and current, I realized that I failed to post some pictures from March, April, and May.  So, here is a look back over the past few months.  Family beach trip and birthday party pictures coming up next.  Whew - I am trying to keep this up in the midst of hard days.

Jay coached a baseball team of handicapped men and women in the Spring called, Miracle League. He coached every Friday night for 8 weeks, and his Assistant coach was with him at every game!

My family participated in the "Mother Walk" on Mother's day weekend in honor of my sister Elliot. This event is always held the Saturday before Mother's Day - for obvious reasons.  We formed a team and walked/ran to raise support and awareness for Ovarian Cancer. Elliot had just been discharged from the hospital the day before the event so she was unable to be there, but she had the largest team who also raised the most money. It was a bittersweet day for us, knowing that she was unable to be there, but we all did the best we could and then rushed home to be with her at the house.

This was the highlight for Elijah Brooks!  There was a group of bikers called, "Bikers for Christ" at the event - awesome guys, and they were so kind to let my boy sit on their motorcycles.

The next day, Mother's Day.
