"Not a care"....

For about an hour, none of us had a care in the world. If you have read the previous post, you would understand what I am talking about. While we were in SC, I begged Jay to take me and Elijah Brooks to the beach for just a little while. Jay grew up 15 minutes from the beach in these pictures, literally, 15 minutes. Yet for some reason, every time we visit we never go to the beach.  I guess if you live there, you just don't think about going to the beach.  But, I begged him if we could find just an hour to slip away and take EB.  The afternoon before we left to drive home, we went to the beach for about an hour.  EB and I could have stayed all day long.  As soon as his little feet hit the sand, he took off running - and ran solid for an hour.  I kept singing the theme song to "Chariots of Fire" in my head.  The child ran, and ran, and ran, and ran.  He had the time of his life, and Jay and I loved just standing back watching his energy and zest for life. I was trying my best to take pictures, but pretty much had to run to keep up with him. He had no fear of the ocean, which was pretty terrifying and the current was strong, but his sweet big cousin was beside him the whole time and I was ready to throw my camera down and any second and jump in the water too!

There are alot of pictures, but I couldn't figure out which ones to post and not post, because these all capture his personality so well. This is our Elijah Brooks, all boy, all smiles, all love, and all energy!

He did stop ONCE, to pick up shells!  Where did that head full of blond hair come from?

Might be my favorite picture ever.  I look at this and fast forward and see him as a teenager.  Makes me cry actually, but I still see my baby boy in those eyes.

I mean seriously, can't you just hear "Chariots of Fire" in this picture?
