"Out of the mouths of babes...."

We had a rough morning. I am not really even sure why, it was just one of those mornings. My "happy go lucky" child was not so happy this morning - he didn't even want to go to the park with friends and just seemed to want to be alone (well, with mommy), but not with friends. Definitely not typical for his extroverted personality. After several discipline tactics for multiple disobedience offenses, I finally just sat on the floor exhausted and frustrated, looked at him and asked, "honey, what is wrong today"? He sat down on the floor across from me and said, "I'm just having a hard day".

We missed you guys this morning. Hope you both were able to get some rest. EB is so expressive.

And that is perfectly allowed. I hear you, Elijah Brooks! Just remember that tomorrow is another day. :-)

i'm with him there! addie will be just wild or teary or whiny and when i will make myself just sit down, put her in my lap and talk to her...things get so much easier. it's recognizing when that's the hardest for this mommy! i hope EB's day is MUCH better today (and yours is too!)

Elijah Brooks like all children sometimes just wants to say, like we adults want to say, on occasions, as well, "I am not a robot." He communicates beautifully with his mouth, his eyes, his whole body, and he 'repeats all that he hears' - Anyone else in the house ever had a 'hard day?' Love, E-Daddy
