"Summer Days"

Let's just say we spend alot of time in the water and eating popsicles - it's a typical Alabama summer - and it's sweltering! I keep thinking I am going to have all of this time to sit down and journal some "deep thoughts" or some profound observations (or not so profound), but alas, it's not going to happen.  Why?  Well, I have a very busy toddler on my hands...., and lovely braces on my hands...., AGAIN (most likely from my very busy toddler).   After 7 months of being pain-free, my tendonitis has yet again reared it's ugly head. So, there goes any chance of typing for awhile. I guess you will all just have to settle for looking at pictures of an adorable little boy. Let me just say, his precious smile says words that my hands will never be able to type.

This is his new way to "eat" yogurt. He looks at me each time to ask permission and says, "dink, dink"??

With a smile like that, how can I say "no"?  He just turned it into a smoothie - otherwise known as a "moothe".

Hanging out with my boy

Pool fun with E-Daddy

He would eat 100 popsicles a day if I let him (he really should have been outside or had on a bib. Oh well - the outfit was red too.  I totally just justified that didn't I ?

Our niece and nephew, MaKenzie and Parker, came to stay with us for a whole week to attend VBS at our church with us.  Here they are making homemade pizzas. They are precious and we miss them so much already.

And this is Elijah Brooks' contribution to making pizzas - eating the cheese!

I kiss this sweet face at least 500 x's a day.

EB and cousin Parker having fun in the pool

I am not potty training him yet. He just likes to sit on the potty and "read". He actually did go tee tee 2x's in the potty a few weeks ago, but nothing since then.  No harm can come from him sitting there - and it makes for a cute picture.  We'll tackle this down the road.

Love, love, love that sweet smile

Yellow is a good color for him don't you think? He is very proud of his "airplane" shirt.

Riding the tractor that Mr. Bill and Mrs. Brenda gave to him. They gave him a small tractor for his 1st birthday and then this one came home with us from Jay's graduation!! We miss them SOOOOO much.

so cute!! I love your new pics. If he likes sitting on the potty, I say GO for it!!! John Rosemond says that kids used to be potty trained by 23 months if not earlier in the olden days. You don't have to apologize at all. I say that b/c we waited until Will was 1 month from 3 just b/c that's what everyone told us to do with boys. We are already training walker at 26 months and he is doing so good and just gets it. You will be SO happy you don't have to buy diapers. A friend of mine suggested this book, toilet training in less than a day by Azrin ??? I think. This works SO well!!!! You can find this book anywhere and it has a question list to see if he's ready. He is so precious and I hear ya on that Montgomery heat!! The heat and roaches are the things I DON'T miss the most (oh, and snobby debutants, ha!)

Oh my goodness!! Fabulous pictures. I looked at them twice so I could find a favorite, but they were all so good. Maybe that one of him with the hat? I am telling you, Erin, you have the sweetest little boy ever. I still can picture him running to me with his hands up in the air. I miss him so much!! :-(

Hey, Erin.

Got to spend a little catch-up time on your blog and look through some recent posts. So good to see the updated photos.

I'm sorry I haven't emailed you back. :(

Sorry to hear your hands are bothering you again. I'll pray that the braces will bring relief.

Miss you and love you!
