My sweet nephew turned 8 years old a few weeks ago! How can this be? He is growing too quickly. He is the kindest, most tender-hearted, strong, and courageous boy I know. His mother would be so proud of the young man that he is becoming. The kids and I surprised him for this birthday by driving to his house after school one afternoon and were hiding inside the house when he got home from school! He jumped as high as the ceiling when he saw us - it was a priceless moment and I am so thankful we were able to make this happen. We spent the night with him, and just enjoyed being together on his special day. We back several days later for his birthday party. I knew I wouldn't have much alone time with him on his party day, so I was especially thankful for the time I was able to spend with him on his actual birthday afternoon and evening.

The kids had to go to school the next day, but EB didn't have preschool so we took a side trip to "Vulcan State Park" |

This girl loves to color, and can usually be found with a pencil, pen, or crayon in her hand. Is it me, or does she actually look like she knows what she is doing??! |

Mr. Vulcan himself! And yes, we walked around the top of him where that fence is - I think I have mentioned on this blog about how much I do not like heights! And...., I had a squirmy toddler in my arms - makes me nervous just typing that! |
