Fall is by far my favorite time of the year. I love everything about it - the colors, the smells, the sights, the sounds, the loved ones whose birthday's we celebrate each fall, the cooler temperatures, the clear skies against a backdrop of radiant colors - everything. I love it all. I think I may have passed my love for the fall down to Elijah Brooks! Every time he sees a tree changing colors he says, "look Mommy, I see it, it's coming, fall is coming"! He and I even went on a "fall leaf hunt" together this year to make some placemats for the table. This was such a sweet time for us as we had a precious conversation that I want to remember forever. As we were walking through the woods hunting for leaves, he pulled a golden leaf off of a tree and said, "Here you go Darlin', a leaf for my Baby"! I thanked him over and over (and inside my heart was about to burst), and he said, "I just knew you would love it". What a sweet memory!!
We have made cider, visited the pumpkin patch twice, enjoyed an afternoon at Farm City, made fall placemats, made our Thanksgiving Tree, carved pumpkins, watched Charlie Brown's, "The Great Pumpkin", eaten pumpkin pie, stomped in the leaves, celebrated birthday's, and thanked God for this wonderful time of the year.

EB's ghost! |

He was so happy about his first pumpkin, he wanted to try a 2nd one - and actually let sister help him - joyfully! |

Our "Thanksgiving Tree". The kids helped me pick branches from the woods which was a sweet memory. We pick a "leaf" off of the branch each day and read a Scripture verse about "thankfulness". |

These are some of the leaves that EB and I collected for our placemats. They are all brown now, but they were vibrant and beautiful when we initially made them! |
