"Easter 2013"....

Getting out of the house at 7:15am Easter Sunday morning to sing at the 8:15, 10:30, and 11:00 services resulted in not one single family picture!  Such is the life of a pastor's family on Sunday mornings. By the time church was over, the kids were far too tired and looking abit shabby to get a decent picture - and mommy and daddy weren't looking so hot either after our exhausting, but joyful morning!  So as usual, only pictures of the kids were taken. One day our kids may look back at our pictures and wonder where in the world their parents were every time a picture was taken.  Oh well, they are much cuter than us anyway :)

Easter was a beautiful and glorious day - another very tough day without my sister though. So many emotions barreling through my head on this most high and holy weekend. I wonder if the Resurrection of Christ is celebrated differently than any other day in Heaven?  I am sure theologians would say not, but I couldn't help but wonder as I lifted my hands high towards Heaven singing these words, (read these words and let them marinate in your soul)

  1. Christ the Lord is ris’n today, Alleluia!
Sons of men and angels say, Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!
Sing, ye heav’ns, and earth, reply, Alleluia!
  2. Lives again our glorious King, Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Once He died our souls to save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!
  3. Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids His rise, Alleluia!
    Christ hath opened paradise, Alleluia!
  4. Soar we now where Christ hath led, Alleluia!
    Foll’wing our exalted Head, Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise, Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies, Alleluia!

This is my dress that I wore as a little girl that my mom made. I love seeing Ellison wearing it.

Looking alittle "worn" by this point!

And what Easter isn't completely without flying a Star Wars kite??

and doing alittle fishing after Easter lunch.....
