"Beach Pictures"

A dear couple in our church offered us a weekend at their beach house a few weeks ago. We realized that it has been close to a year since just the 3 of us have taken a trip together alone.  We have had a particularly stressful and exhausting year for various reasons, so the timing was very appropriate and much needed for us to get away for a few days together. It was quite cold this particular weekend, especially in the mornings and evenings, but after lunch it warmed up. We had absolutely no agenda and no schedule and just did whatever we wanted to whenever we wanted to - SO needed. I don't know when the next time we will be able to get away especially with little girl on the way, so we tried to savor every second. I could have sat for hours and watched Elijah Brooks take it all in - well, that's pretty much what this big momma did - and it was perfect in every way.  I wish I could have bottled up his smile and his laughter every time his feet hit the sand. We made such wonderful memories - and it was so nice to be able to reconnect with my hubby as well. Lovin' some good ole' family time!

Feeding seagulls

Some boys we met over the weekend dug this massive hole in the sand. Elijah Brooks befriended them quickly, and day that they left, he made a beeline to jump in the hole and play.

His "cave"!
