"NEMO" 2010

We have definitely had a full month for sure. The month started out with a nasty case of RSV, followed by mommy getting a terrible sinus infection requiring medical attention as a result of RSV. Between the 2 of us, we were sick for a full month. I was also performing in several concerts during all of that taking me out of the house for rehearsals and performances each night for a week. Jay was asked to be a guest pastor at a church in Augusta, GA so he and I had to slip away for him to preach, lots of birthday parties to attend, lots of hayrides and fall festivals to attend, and lots of church events to attend. The month of October has truly flown by and it has seemed like a blur. There are definitely seasons of life that seem more blurry than others. Jay and I were gone for 24 hours for him to preach this weekend and Elijah Brooks stayed with his Bebe and E-Daddy and had WAY more fun than he would have had going with us. We were determined to get home last night before his bedtime and in time to at least let him walk around the neighborhood. He had already attended several fall festivals at churches, so we decided to do something different and let him ring doorbells of the neighbors that we knew. I didn't know what he would think about the whole idea, but today, he is still asking to ring doorbells and doesn't understand why he can't do it anymore! He had a blast. He has worn his "Nemo" costume to 3 other events already, but he was very eager to put it on again last night. We started on our little trek around the neighborhood, and he had the hang of it after he rang the first doorbell. He was so precious walking up to the door, ringing the bell and then stepping back away from the door. He would say, "twik tweet", and his eyes would get enormous as he peered into large buckets of pure sugar, that he has never seen before. After he made his decision, he would so sweetly and genuinely look up at the person and say, "TANK YOO". He wanted to hold his candy very closely to his chest and it was hard to get him to put it in his bucket! We went to maybe 8 houses or so, and had a wonderful time. It was such a precious memory for us.

And, the candy has long been forgotten as of today! I am thinking that it may have made it's way to Jay's office mysteriously. I think we'll stick with raisins - they are plenty sweet enough!
