"Communicating"

Elijah Brooks is 18 months old now - impossible to believe almost.  At the moment, time does not permit me to write about all the new things he is doing.  I did however, want to take a minute to jot down something he said this morning before it escapes me (this blog is acting as his baby journal) for now.  My hope is to one day transfer all of this to his journal. Anyway, this morning I put him down for a nap. He had been up there for about 30 minutes and was completely quiet so I assumed he was asleep. All of a sudden, he started calling out for me....., "mommy, mommy, mommy, mommy" etc.....  I picked him up and put his paci back in his mouth and was going to rock him for a few minutes. When I tried to put his paci back in, he said, "no, no, no, no, no" and threw it back down in his crib.  I asked him if he wanted to get back in his bed and rest some more and he said very clearly, "PLAY PLEASE"!  I was stunned that he came up with that.  So, off we went to play and have a popsicle :)      Honestly, he really didn't need that nap this morning anyway and I just simply couldn't resist that most precious and polite request.

Awwww..... that is so so sweet. I love the please at the end. How could you resist?

And those pictures are stunning. He needs to be on the cover of a Prenting magazine. I love him and cannot wait to see him.
